Jenny Kendler's work revolves around human beings' relationship with Nature and the natural world --- focusing on human sexuality and gender as it relates to our often denied animal origins, as well as environmental issues such as extinction, climate change, and the complexity of ecosystems. All profits from the sale of her works are donated to environmental charities.
Kendler's delicate drawings, installations and miniature sculptural terrariums most often shows human beings in intimate physical relation to the environment, directly confronting that idea that we are somehow separate from and above nature. Figures empower themselves through their ability to understand, accept, and dissolve into nature, channeling the feminine sublime. Her work is tender, brutal and at times playful, echoing the rhythms of the natural world.
